The Larry Corse Prize for Playwriting
The prize was established in 2003 and five winners have been selected so far from the
over 300 entries received each year from around the world.
2003 Robert Karmon for Caliban and Miranda. This prize and production were
in collaboration with Clayton State University.
2004 William Missouri Downs for Seagulls in a Cherry Tree. The prize and productions
are now being offered in collaboration with Columbus State University Theatre.
2005 Ian Walker for The Gravedigger's Tango
2006 Kevin Christopher Snipes for The Chimes
Kevin Christopher Snipes's play The Chimeswas given a workshop performance at the Orlando Shakespeare Festival.
The 2007-8 contest entries are currently being evaluated by the Theater Faculty at Columbus State University.

Columbus State Theatre has decided to sponser the competition every other year. In alternate years, The Atlanta Queer Literary Festival will produce a gay-themed play. Our first winner in this category is Rich Orloff for his comedy Skin Deep. As part of the Atlanta Queer Literary Festival Skin Deep will be performed at the First Existentialist Congregation in Atlanta, GA on October 15-18, 2008.
